Whether you're a homebrew enthusiast or a hardcore tailgater, DIY site Make's clever "Convertible Jockey Box" will dispense a refreshingly cold brew every time. A jockey box is one of those funny coolers with a built-in beer tap on the outside. Inside, it has the requisite plumbing to draw beer from a keg, and a metal coil or cooling plate. Once you fill the cooler with ice and attach a keg, the coil or plate, acting as a heat exchanger, quickly chills the beer to a proper serving temperature — even when the keg itself isn't cold. According to Make, it's not hard to find pre-made versions for a whopping $150; the DIY version is much cheaper, and it nicely fits a mini-keg entirely inside. Video instructor extraordinaire KipKay walks through how to do it in the video above (or you can grab the PDF for the project here. DF* (via LifeHacker)
