Timbuk2 - Dolores Chiller $110
Avoid any unwanted attention that comes from carrying around a cooler to events or parks... just toss a few cold ones and some ice in your Dolores Chiller which is cunningly disguised as a messenger bag. The waterproof TPU liner makes sure that there's no condensation or leaking on the outside so you can stay dry while your cold ones stay chilled. As if this bag couldn't be any more perfect it also comes with a built-in bottle opener. (via CoolMaterial) With all the laid-back attitude of the originals, the Converse All Star Rain Boots ($80) are the first we'd actually consider wearing in inclement weather. Staying true to their roots with a simple lace-up design and Chuck Taylor insignias, these rain boots feature a green rubber upper, attached tongue to prevent water from seeping in, corded laces, a reinforced toe, and a durable, grippy sole. A new print ad from our friends at TDA Advertising & Design, Boulder for their client Hapa Sushi features a map of Denver and Boulder with 63 dots. Four dots are blue, representing the four Hapa locations (and the lunch specials they have available). The remaining 59 are red, representing medical marijuana dispensaries, some of which are conveniently located very near Hapa’s restaurants.
“We’re just kind of saying, ‘Look, these dispensaries exist and they’re becoming part of our community, so let’s welcome them in and have some fun,’ ” said Mark Van Grack, owner of Hapa Sushi. “If you’re going to smoke pot, you’re going to get the munchies, so come to Hapa to eat.” Jonathan Schoenberg, the creative director at TDA, said of the Hapa ads, “We try to keep these guys in a culturally significant place.” The ad will appear today, Thursday, in the Denver/Boulder edition of The Onion and in Westword later in the month.
