DENVER - A day after the Colorado Avalanche got a hefty helping of bad news, they released some intriguing news on Friday.
The Avs announced Friday that forward Peter Forsberg will begin practicing with the team, starting Saturday. "I need to see where I am physically and practicing with NHL players is the best way to find that out," Forsberg stated in a news release. The news came a day after the Avs learned they had lost left winger Thomas Fleischman for the season because of blood clots in his lungs. Forsberg planned to skate with the Avs at 8 a.m. at the Pepsi Center and planned to talk with the media afterward. There was no indication on whether he was considering a full-time return to the team. Its size belies its sophistication — it also uses a NASA-designed water-purifying system and broadcasts WiFi a mile-wide. Let's take a look inside. DF* (via The Awesomer)
