I has the pleasure of meeting Max Klaw at Tooey's one weird night this past summer. I think he just came off tour with Big B and was in Denver for just a minute.  I knew he was there is wasn't like I just ran into him.  Me and LA show up, I get him a Rum and Coke and spend another hour and a half with my ears thouroughly entertained by what he put together in a, trust me, eclectic mix of music. And then like that I knew he was a bit different from your run of the mill average DJ. Klaw has recently been on tour with Swollen Members all over the US and Canadia, Yeah Canadia. Trust, DJ Klaw is one bad Mother Fucker who knows his shit. Read the Westword interview with him below and become a fan already. DF*

Name: Max Klaw / DJ Klaw

Club night(s): Right now, I am touring the country for the third time this year with Big B and Swollen Members. When I am home, you can catch me at Problems D'Amour, The Jump Off!, Noise Fridays at Beta (#1 club in the country!), Bad Habits After Hours and Egg Beats at Table 6. Most are monthly affairs that allow me to tour and still do events here in Denver. I also get booked to play club nights in Los Angeles like The Heist, Dance Right and Element, Brooklyn at Savalas, St. Louis at London Calling and Salt Lake City at Shake N' Pop on the regular. My Mommy's Little Monster party was held weekly 45 times in 2009 at Benders Tavern on Thursday's (Westword's best club night 2009) here in Denver and at The Hard Rock Hotel's Wasted Space in Las Vegas on Sunday's.

I don't think any drummer out there goes harder than Travis Barker. He finally does justice to Drakes "Forever" song. Keep 'em coming Mr. Barker. DF*

Pretty Much Amazing posted the Chiddy Bang mixtape The Swelly Express yesterday with a bunch of never-before-released songs as well as the familiar Chiddy Bang favorites.
BIO:
"Chiddy Bang is a four piece hip-hop/electronica outlet from Philadelphia. Currently attending their first year of college, they posses a musical maturity that is far superior to the teen-pop cliché. Chiddy Bang blends hard hitting lyricism from front man Chidera "Proto" Anamege, original electronica afro-beat and jazz influenced production from keyboardist Noah Beresin or "Xaphoon Jones," and drummer Zach Sewall. Additional production and vocals are from guitarist Pat Braz. Their major introduction to the public was to a crowd of over 2000, opening for Mike Jones and the Legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff.”
After listening to this mixtape I can absolutely say that I am a new fan of Chiddy Bang. Do yourself a favor and Download this  HERE! Really feelin' Track 13 Slow down feat Black Thought. DF*

Chiddy Bang are hitting the scene hard with their upcoming mixtape, The Swelly Express, due 10/29. PMA is proud to premiere another cut off the mixtape called “All Things Go.” Chiddy Bang describe The Swelly Express as the true story of a journey of two college kids breaking into the “music biz.” The mixtapes’ lyrics and music will bare this journey in mind, which is clearly evident in both “Decline” and especially “All Things Go.”

Sample-based hip-hop has always been my favorite (Kanye West, most Jay-Z, A Kid Named Cudi) and Xaphoon Jones has always had an ear for implementing an “indie” sample buried withing scathing bass. “All Things Go” samples Sufjan Steven’s “Chicago” — one of my personal favorite songs of all time. Listen to it here

Andrew Hathaway mixed the Notorious B.I.G.’s song “Party and Bullshit” with Miley Cyrus’ “Party In The U.S.A.” to create this infectious rap-pop mix.  I guarantee, yes guarantee this will be the best mash-up you hear in the next 72 hours. Download Here. DF*

L.A. Turned me on to this after hearing it on the radio. Thanks L.A.! DF*

Recently surfaced Vibe interview with Tupac reveals that he thought that Puffy had everything to do with his shooting outside of a NY studio. I would love for this to transpire into a renewed investigation and put Diddy down. I just can't stand him. DF*
